Spirit Yachts

Founded in 1993 by lifelong sailor and skilled yacht designer, Sean McMillan, Spirit Yachts has established a 25 year reputation of designing and building beautiful sailing yachts and power boats delivered all across the world. Headquartered at their waterside premises in Ipswich, Suffolk, each yacht is hand built using fine quality materials and sustainably-sourced timber. The team of international highly skilled boat builders have a passion for detail and build each yacht uniquely to suit the owner, whist retaining the Spirits Yachts iconic elegance.

 

   

 CAI were thrilled to be commissioned by Spirit Yachts to design and manufacture a set of instruments for their Spirit P70 Power Yacht.

The vessel is a spacious and powerful power yacht which has a range of 1,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 18 knots, allowing for the possibility to cross the North Sea without the need to re-fuel. Power is sourced from the Twin MAN i6 800hp engines, meaning a top speed of 25 knots is possible. Below deck there are three cabins, all of which are en-suite, whist a fourth cabin can provide accommodation for optional crew.

 

 

 

 CAI worked closely with Spirit Yachts to achieve the customer's required design, concentrating on the finer details of the styling from the font size and colour, to the logo colour and arc layout. The result is a timeless and elegant set of marine instruments with modern technologies. 

 

 

 The three instruments designed and manufactured consist of a 12 volt 100mm tachometer measuring  500-2500 revolutions per minute. The gauge has a classic styling with black dial, digitally printed white font and rover red pointer blade. A full vee stainless steel bezel encloses the gauge in its plastic waterproof case. The signature Sprit Yachts Logo and trademark is featured and the gauge is LED illuminated.

 

 

 

 

 The second instrument designed in the set is a 52mm 12 volt water temperature gauge capable of reading temperatures from 40-120 ° C. The styling is repeated with black dial, white font, full vee stainless steel bezel and distinctive spirit yachts logo. The gauge also features white illumination and waterproof seals.

 

 

 

 The final gauge is a 12 volt 52mm 0-10 bar oil pressure gauge. The same styling is again present as is the Spirit Yachts trademark logo.

This was an exciting project for CAI to be involved in, being our first in the power yacht market and look forward to working with Spirit Yachts in the future.
