Welsh Automotive Success Celebrated at Autolink 2016
The success of the Automotive sector in Wales is celebrated by the Wales Automotive Forum in a new event being held in the Cardiff City Stadium on 18th October 2016. Autolink 2016 is designed to provide Wales based organisations an opportunity to showcase their products, technologies and services to selected Vehicle Manufacturers and Tier 1 companies based inside and outside of Wales
The UK automotive sector continues to grow, with production hitting a 16-year high in June 2016. This marked the 11th consecutive month of growth for UK car makers. The growth is export-led, with over 77% of cars built in the UK being exported to more than 100 overseas markets. Automotive parts suppliers in Wales are an important part of that success.
At Autolink 2016, Wales-based automotive suppliers will have the opportunity to meet key contacts from car manufacturers including Aston Martin, TVR and Jaguar Land Rover.
CAI and Smiths' designed gauges and instrumentation feature in a wide range of classic cars including Aston Martin, TVR and Land Rover. Smiths gauges featured in the latest James Bond film, Spectre, and are also mounted in the dashboard of the TVR Cerbera. At Autolink, CAI will be showcasing a small selection of gauges to demonstrate the high standards of quality and workmanship.

CAI and Smiths has a proud Welsh heritage, with all gauge design and manufacturing occurring at their facility in Abercrave. Gavin Roberts, CAI's Managing Director, is excited about the new event.
"Wales has a strong and successful automotive sector and Autolink 2016 provides us with an ideal platform to communicate that message outside of our borders. Our [CAI and Smiths] business is export driven, both directly and indirectly, and building relationships with such important and successful manufactures such as Aston Martin, TVR and Land Rover is vitally important. This is a great initiative from the Wales Automotive Forum."
