Hello

SMITHS Instruments At Goodwood Festival of Speed

Caerbont Automotive Instruments (CAI) are exhibiting as SMITHS Instruments on stand 137 at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed (4th - 7th July).  In addition to a wide selection of classically designed SMITHS gauges, visitors will be able to see the Wardill4 antique motorcycle featuring bespoke SMITHS speedometer.

"Goodwood Festival of Speed gives us the opportunity of meeting so many car and motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world," explained Gavin Roberts, CAI's Managing Director.  "Visitors are able to see the manufacturing quality of our SMITHS gauges and also talk with our engineers about installation and retrofits."

The Rich SMITHS History

SMITHS branded instrumentation features in some of the world's most iconic classic cars and motorcycles including the Jaguar E-Type, Aston Martin DB5, and the 60-year old Mini.  SMITHS instrumentation is on display right across the show ground and on stands including Caterham Cars.

"There will be more SMITHS branded instruments on cars and motorcycles around the show than on our stand," said Gavin.  "We are blessed with an incredible history which will be on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.  In previous years we have seen our SMITHS instruments in the dashboards of some many classic cars including an Aston Martin DB2/4, Jaguar C-Type, and Bentley racing car.  SMITHS gauges also feature on many classic motorcycles such as the BSA Gold Star."

Bespoke Gauges

CAI also designs and manufactures bespoke gauges for new-build projects including the DLS Porsche 911 from Singer Vehicle Design, the 80th anniversary Morgan 4/4, and the antique Wardill 4 motorcycle.

"Our engineering design team is continuously working on a number of new bespoke gauge projects," said Gavin.  "Specialist car and motorcycle manufacturers want gauges that are unique and reflect the image and appearance of their classic design.  We are able to use our experience of designing gauges for classic cars manufactured by companies such as Aston Martin and Jaguar to produce bespoke and individual instrumentation."
