SMITHS Gauges on Show at Busfest 2017

Classic SMITHS gauges will be on display on the Caerbont Automotive Instruments (CAI) stand B4 W53 at Busfest 2017 (Malvern Showground, UK 8th - 10th September 2017), the world's biggest VW Van festival.

Busfest originally started as a small event called VANFEST in 1994, but quickly evolved into an international event for owners and enthusiasts of Volkswagen's iconic Transporter Van.  Held over 3 days, Busfest is expected to attract over 8000 vehicles and 25000 visitors.  The 300 trade stands will include Caerbont Automotive Industries (CAI) with a wide selection of gauges designed specifically for the classic Transporter Vans and VW Cars.

CAI design and manufacture in the UK a wide range of gauges for Volkswagen Transporter Vans, of which a selection will be on show on their stand.  The range of gauges includes:

  • SMITHS VW Type 2 Split Screen Digital Speedo;
  • SMITHS VW Type 1 & 2 Digital Tacho;
  • For the Bay-Window Bus:  Digital Speedo and Digital Tacho;
  • Clocks;
  • Fuel gauges;
  • Oil pressure gauges;
  • Oil temperature gauges;
  • Voltmeters;

On display at Busfest will also be a wide range of classic SMITHS gauges for Volkswagen cars including the VW Beetle.  In addition, there will be gauges designed for classic Porsche sports cars and the OLED speedometer for the classic Mini.

"Busfest is a great event for any VW enthusiast," said Gavin Roberts, CAI's Managing Director.  "Exhibiting gives us the opportunity to meet and talk with so many people, many of whom are our customers.  We supply VW gauges all over the world and it never ceases to amaze me how many visitors to Busfest are from overseas."
