Review of MCN London Motorcycle Show 2017
Motorcycle gauges designed and manufactured by CAI and SMITHS were on display on the Digital Speedos stand at the MCN London Motorcycle Show in London (17-19 February 2017). Gavin Roberts, our Managing Director, took the opportunity to walk around the show and has given us this report.
"The popular motorcycle show was split into four zones like a Disney theme park; Custom, Classics, Adventure & Sports, and Performance.
On the stand of our distributor, Digital Speedos, were a range of our motorcycle gauges including SMITHS classics. CAI design and manufacture specialist gauges for motorcycles including bespoke instruments for Midual, Metisse, and Old Empire Motorcycles. Many classic motorcycles including Norton, also feature SMITHS gauges on their handlebars. We also work with several small OE producers and specialist motorsport customers creating custom solutions, including battery powered gauges and more modern solutions for the café racer builder. Recently, we introduced an OLED screen, capable of displaying far more functions with a brand new processor and software suite. The new designs of gauge can be supplied in a range of billet cases, all with waterproof sealing. Shows like this provide us with an ideal platform to show users and potential customers the high standard of design, engineering and manufacturing of our gauges.
One of the highlights of the London show was the launch of the new Hesketh Valiant Motorcycle. The stunning hand-built motorcycle, with red leather seat, attracted a great deal of attention on the Hesketh stand. We designed and manufactured the Hesketh-branded 5" Speedometer mounted on the handlebars.
Once again, the MCN London Motorcycle Show was a resounding success for us and Digital Speedos and we are looking forward to the next event."
