Calibration number = (number of tyre revs per mile or Km) x (differential ratio) x (number of magnets or bolt heads).
- Using an inductive proximity speed sender, counting teeth on toothed wheel fitted to the drive or half shaft.

- Using a transmission driven cable with integral sender
Move vehicle forward six complete wheel/tyre revolutions, count the number of cable turns.
Calibration number = (number of tyre revs per mile or Km) x (counted cable turns divided by 6) x number of pulses per sender turn
